Female Truck Driver

According to a national estimate carried out in 2000 in Portugal, there were 97.5% male truck drivers on the road, and only 2.5% female in the profession. Almost twenty years on, the number of women in this profession has increased significantly, but their problems remain the same. The world of trucking is still considered a man’s profession, with only a third of the population aware that there are women in the field that there are women in the field. “Female, Truck Driver”, appears for this reason – in a documentary series made around the lives of 12 female truck drivers, it is an ode to women who face hard work, but above all who maintain and preserve their feminine side and who want to be recognized and respected regardless of gender or profession, without judgments either in the sector or outside it.
