Don’t let the Pinhal de Leiria die

After the devastating fire that hit the Pinhal de Leiria in October 2017, the once green and lush landscape was transformed into a vast expanse of desolation.  In this sense, “Don’t Let the Pinhal de Leiria Die” bears witness to the impact of the fire, the rebirth of nature and human resilience in the face of adversity. Each photo is a fragment of the history of Pinhal de Leiria, from the initial devastation to the first shoots of hope emerging timidly from the scorched earth.  This project arises from contemplation on the fragility of nature and the importance of preserving our natural environments, being especially a visual reminder of the resilient beauty of nature and the hope that lies in the natural world’s capacity for regeneration.
